1. Understand the assignment.

2. Plan your search for information. What do I need to know? How much information do I need?

What kinds of information? What are my sources?

1. Generate Keywords
2. Ask Specific Questions
3. Pre-Read - Overview - collect keywords, basic categories and facts. No detailed notes. Your goal is to become familiar with topic.
4. Organize (Rough Outline) Do I need to narrow my search? Do I need to expand my search?

3. Conduct Search and Collect Important Information. Is this information relevant to my topic?
